whats worse....logging inaccurate data or not logging data at all?

so the watermelon classic is this saturday.  my first baby goal after completing W9 of the c25k last week.  i went last night to run 5k.  started at the house, around newitt vick, right on fairways to pebble beach.  nike+ plus said 3.02 miles at a pace of 11'12"/mile.  im thinking nu-huh.  this morning, i decide to measure it with the car.  sure enough...it was only 2.5 miles.  aint that a kick in the pants.  so i ask, is it better to continue to use the nike+ which may or may not be recording accurate data, or just drop it and run with a watch for a predetermined distance?

note to self...find some nike+ shoes so i can put the dadgum chip where its supposed to go instead of duct taped to the tounge. "i'm sorry miss, i'm just ghetto."

on the plus side, i received my arriva headphones for the ipod shuffle today.  not a moment too soon.  i simply loathe headphone wires.  we will see how they work out tomorrow.
