so i finally broke down and bought some new shoes. i tried on several pair at stinky feet (recommended by mark simpson) and it seems as though i need neutral support. the brooks glycerin 8's felt most comfortable walking around the store. snug with plenty of cushioning in the soles. also, i am trying out the nike+ipod sport kit. im thinking i will try a pair of nike+ shoes next time around. for now, i am using a tip i found on the internet about how to use the sensor with non-nike+ shoes. we will see how it goes.
so far, i ran the W6D2 around the lake on saturday and felt significantly less discomfort in my lower front shin area. it seems my feet are landing flatter that before.
today i completed my first 25 min run in the flats. nike+ says it was 2.46 miles in 30:00 minutes (12.2 min/mile) and it felt like i could have gone farther. next week consists of three 25 minute runs.
