i was hoping to be back on track before summer started. unfortunately, i got banged up a little bit playing softball and baseball. it took me about two weeks to realize that perhaps i'm past my prime for these two sports. i leane don sore knees and a bum shoulder as crutches to deflect the questions from my buddies about how my running is coming along.
i helped out with the gator bait at eagle lake olympic distance triathlon and open water swim on august 27. it was my first experience with actually seeing what goes on at these races. several friends competed and i must say, it moved my inspired/motivation meter a little to the right. so this week i made up my mind to get started again. sunday evening i put in 3.5 miles and tuesday i got in 3.62 miles. terrible speed, but moving forward.
also, i have started a goal schedule to keep me on track......
bricks and spokes (october 1)
over the river run (october 8)
run for life (october 15)
(need to find something for november and december)
mississippi blues half (january 7)
chill in the hills (january 14)
the new orleans half or full (february)
run thru history (march 3)
Warhawk (March)
Blues Cruz (april)
memphis in may (May)
Cotton States ( August 13)
gator bait 2012 (August)
we'll see how it goes.....
